Where to learn to drive standard car better?

Question:
I had an impatient teacher, but learned enough to not burn out the clutch on a 1986 Jetta with 180,000 onto which I added 30,000 miles in a year (years ago).
Anyway, my injured shoulder is finally better, and I'm wondering how to improve...
Any ideas are welcome!
