they look like a small black box,,at least mine does,,and i didn't know where mine was until i put a heater core in the car,,it was above the heater box,,but,,they don't always put them in the same place,,so its herd to tell them sometimes from a part that came with the car,,mine works though,,i can use my computer to find my car with,anywhere within a 300 mile radius,,i tracked my wife to north Carolina,,with it,,just to see if it worked,,of course she knew it was there,but she visited a friend,,and i told her i was going to do it,,but there never in the same place,,good luck hope this help,s.
