V6 or 4 cylinder help?

Question:
hi, i wanna get a new car and i dont know if i want a v6 or a 4 cylinder. i guess im an aggresive driver. i like to floor it until i get up to the speed limit when im driving around town. i dont really go too much over. i love the feel of acceleration, but do i really need the extra power of the v6. the only car ive driven is my mothers ford focus, so i dont know what real power is. also, if i have two of the same car and one is a v6 and one is a 4 cylinder, does the 4 cylinder get that much more gas mileage. also, v6 just sounds nice. im leaning towards the v6, practically falling towards it, but i just want to know if a 4 cylinder could be one of my options so when i look for cars i can include them in my search for the right car. basically, is a 4 cylinder worth my time. thanks

Twins getting drivers license?

There are some cars that, with the four-cylinder, can't get out of their own way, but are tolerable with the six-cylinder. There are others that are quite nimble with the four-cylinder, and the six-cylinder just adds weight and cost and lowers the gas mileage, all for no more fun.

My friend has a personalize car tage and it states "I W W W 4 " can anyone figure this out?

Finally, the power output of an engine depends on a lot more than the number of cylinders. Case in point: you can buy a VW Rabbit with five cylinders (boring, no fun) or a VW GTI (performance version of the Rabbit) with FOUR cylinders -- but also a turbocharter. Much more fun. Another example is the Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S; the non-S version gets great gas mileage, but the S version gets almost as good mileage with much more power. The kicker? Both are four cylinder engines.

PT CRUISER the ugliest car so far this century? u think so?

#1: read car reviews in magazines or online. Car and Driver is a good one, and The Truth About Cars (online only) is good as well. Both are going to have a slant towards "more power is better", but they'll both be up front if the smaller available engine is good enough or not.

Does the silicon contaminated petrol affect older cars?

#2: if you haven't driven a performance car yet, don't do it -- and stick with the cheaper, more economical version. I drove economy cars for years, and greatly enjoyed the lightweight feel and nimble handling. Then I went out and bought a high-performance (albeit still four-cylinder) car, and it spoiled me -- I rarely used all the power it had, but going back to economy cars has been a drag because lightweight feel and nimble handling aren't quite enough to satisfy me any more.

Seattle Area Exotic Car Rental?

Still, at the end of the day, it's a cost/benefit decision you'll need to make on your own. Here's a rule of thumb: go test drive the lower-end model with the smaller engine. If you love it, buy it and don't look back; if you love everything about it except how slow it is, test drive the more powerful version. Then look at your bank account and see if the extra power is worth the extra money -- if not, test drive a different car.

Ever driven over the limit?

I'll tell you right now, having driven both in sedans, get the V6. especially if you like to drive that way. You wont regret it. Dont worry about the mileage difference, it is negligible. It really depends on what model and year because they are making some peppy 4 cylinders nowadays and the v6's are making v8 like power now as well.

You can kill yourself and a few friends or strangers in a 1200cc four just as easily as in a 3800cc V6.

I'd much rather have a turbo charged, 4 Cylinder Jetta Diesel (49mpg), top speed ~132, than a 6 cylinder chevy silverado which (17 mpg) starts bucking at you once you try to hit over 80mph

There are some VERY peppy 4 cylinder cars out there. If you want great engine sound, you should buy a diesel!

They are all very peppy. Some obviously more than others :-) The prizm can't take anything in my driveway, but, on the same note, I have ZERO performance issues with it, I don't have to "worry if I have enough power to get on the highway" or any of that crap.

Im trying to find a second hand car, something small.please help.nothing on ebay?

It really depends on what car you get. I would go for a V6 personally, 4 cylinders usually get more miles to the gallon than the V6 but a little less power. The only 4 cylinder cars I would get are Subarus and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions.
