Busted struthas anyone else just passed there driving test and suddenly...?
More than likely it is either a broke shock if you notice it mainly when you pull out ( weight shifts) or hit a bump, I'd say that is what it is.Have you just come from France?
Old car leaking oil then stops leaking after being driven?
if it is like a metal tapping noise it could just be an exhaust mounting in which case it will only cost a couple of quid to do it yourself just try moving the exhaust by hand while cold and listern for the knocking go right along it good luckIs it true you use less petrol when driving in neutral downhill?
shocks or its the exhaust pipe or sounds more like exhaust pipe clamps/straps are brokenHow do I make my car smell good without the use of spraying fragrances?
Well, I think we can probably rule out someone under there with a hammer. But you sure didn't give us much to go on here. Year make and model would be a clue.does anyone have an idea who the stig is from top gear- the professional driver?
Does the hammering speed up as you do? It this front, or rear wheel drive? If it's rear wheel drive and speeds up when you do, I'd suspect the drive shaft of being out of balance. If it doesn't speed up when you do, or seems to correspond to dips in the road, I'd suspect a muffler support being broken.
Sick of all the automobile advertisments mean while the price of cars goes through the roof.?
Probably the best thing you can do is slide under, and start grabbing things and moving them if you can to see if it makes a noise similar to what you hear. If you hear it mostly towards the engine, look there, towards the rear, look there.
Can I hire a TVR for the day? (I am under 25)?
Good luck on finding it.
what are non-xenon projectors and xenon projectors?
Get your wheels balanced. I once had a van which banged loudly at around 40 mph. All of the back panels reverberated.Bloke at the garage balanced the wheels and Hey Presto!
I recently got solicited (via mail) for a car warranty. Is it legit?
have a look at the shock absorber bushes particularly on the front top, the rubber bush can were away and it becomes metal to metal resulting in a banging noise.Could be the Exhaust system could be broken Shocker it could be a broken leaf on one of the springs.if it is a bus should it not be investigated ASAP.
First car for my teen daughter?
could be exhaust strap snaphow much does it cost to get driving lessons in manual transmission?
t-reg means nothing to anyone outside the United Kingdom. I'm in Australia and would not have a schmick about what year t-reg means. OK its a Ford Transit. Any banging noises indicate a serious fault. Guessing now - suspension part broken, possibly exhaust system, maybe even a problem with an universal joint. If you can't locate and fix it yourself, take it to a suitable workshop and get it fixed. The damage will only get worse.Only way to find out is get under the bus!!!
Could just be something wrapped round prop-shaft, or something expensive.
Why are most Lamborghini car models named in Spanish? ex. Gallado, diablo...?
If it's a Transit the first place I would look is at the propshaft. They have a rubber mounting in the middle and the mount itself is prone to failure. You would notice it more under acceleration and heavy load. Also check the bolts where the flanges mount at the g/box and back axle and make sure they're tight.
Hope this helps.
hoe do i tell what year a motorhome is by the vin number?
