Question:
I don't really think a 98 Nissan Altima will be able to tow a 4' x 8' U-Haul trailer from Los Angeles to Philadelphia, but my fiance thinks his car can handle it. We kind of need the car to last a while longer, so I don't want to destroy it. I am really convinced that the car wouldn't be able to survive the trip...what do you think? The thing is, we can't possibly afford to rent an actual U-Haul truck, so we have very little options other than shipping everything, but there is some furniture involved that has sentimental value and is older/fragile. Also, if you think it would be possible to hook up a trailer, how much would that effect gas mileage?

Why is it so easy to forget where you’ve parked in places like shopping malls and airports?
Yes, It will pull it, but dont go over 50mph. DONT push it at all. Just take it easy and slow. Minimum speed on US highways is 45mph. So, STAY BETWEEN 45 and 50!Why do current hybrid systems employ a gasoline component, rather than a diesel component?
Get a oil change before towing it all the way, heck, you should do the following:
Get a oil change, i'd recommend using Valvoline Maxlife, it has extra anti-wear additives which will help with the higher stress of pulling the trailer.
Has the Scion ever introduce the Xb open deck into U.S??
Next, if it hasnt been done in the last 20,000 miles, get a basic transmission fluid flush, and a engine coolant flush.
If it's going to be warm out (as in, 80+ degrees out) while towing, might want to look into having a additional transmission fluid cooler added on, to keep the tranny running smoothly.
If you had a specially made license plate,,what would it say?
a 98 Nissan Altima has 150 horse power and a towing capacity of 1000 lbs, you have more than enough power to tow a 4 by 8 u-hall trailer , My 96 s-10 truck only has 118 horse power and i tow a 16 foot boat with that so yea it will pull a u-hall with no problem! Why are there so many types of engine oil filter?
Well the above answered the questions already. BUT do do the oil change. But the trick is to use FULL synthetic oil for the oil change. Yes, it will cost more, but the gas savings is where you will save. Also, go to wal-mart if there is one in your area, and they have a buy a 5 quart jug and pay for 4 quarts. Also the oil change is EVERY 6 months for syn oil too.And if you do the tranny oil, again use syn oil for it. Towing is really not that much of a problem. But depends if you try to really load up too. But you should have no problem
On many foreign cars why is one wing mirro smaller than the other ?
TIP -
Here is what you do.
1. Take at least two tankfuls of gas in your car and get an accurate mpg for your vehicle. Then do an oil change but with SYNTHETIC oil. After 1000 miles do a two tankful fillup and get the mpg of your vehicle. If you figure right you will see you are saving money on gas. Also, you do not have to change oil till 6 months. But I tell everyone, change the oil filter at 3 months and just pour what oil you can back. If you go to Walmart they sell the buy 5 qt bottle and pay for 4 quarts. When you see the savings, especially with gas running $3 a gallon, you will use syn oil, thereafter, know that you automatically will save money.
2, Buy some Plus 4 sparkplugs. They last longer, get a hotter spark so detonate the gas cleaner and better, and therefore giving you just a wee bit more of power. Yes, they run 4 times more than regular plugs, BUT they last as long. And you have to look at the money you save in a year or two.
3. Buy your spark plug wires like at auto zone. Lifetime warranty and change them when you need.
Whos fault is it driving related question?
I forgot, make sure you have a GOOD spare tire. Do you know it is nearly just as cheap to get a NEW spare tire. You get the cheapest mileage tire, no warranty, no nothing on it. Used tires nearly cost as much and I have TWO used tires costing $45 that lasted a total of about 100 miles and I could have bought a new spare tire for that.
