Is it possible to get rid of a car sunroof?

Question:
post pretty much says it all. I've been looking for a specific car for a while now, but the only one I can find in my price range has a sunroof on it (which I really don't want). Just wondering if getting a shop to weld or close it up is a plausible solution. Vehicle in question is a 1994 RX-7.

If you go to a reputable body shop, they should be able to do the job for you. I say reputable because if you go to "this guy your friend knows who has his own welding stuff and will do it for only $20 and a six pack", what you will be left with will look like dirt and will more then likely leak. Also, taking out the sunroof is not going to be cheap, and even if you leave the sunroof, there is a possibility that it going to leak anyway, they are notorious for leaking. :}
