If you have 4WD SUV, do you still need snow chains if you're going to Tahoe?

Question:

Answers:

how do road radars work?

Yes. Even though weather conditions may not warrant the use of chains on 4-wheel-drive vehicles at a particular time, to enter a chain control area, you must have a set of chains (for one drive axle) for your vehicle in your possession. If conditions worsen or you have trouble controlling your vehicle, you must stop and install the chains.

I have a 1994 Villager there is a button that is marked E-AT any ideas on what is for?

ABSOLUTLY, Even if they are not required storms can roll in very quickly in mountain areas. 4wd will give you added safty but you can still spin out on ice. Chains will give you the added traction you may need. Also FWI having 4wd dosn't mean you get to drive any faster nearly 90% of the accedents in tahoe are because someone is over confident and puts to much faith in the 4wd system. Good luck drive safe and have fun on your trip.

If a school bus is stopped with red lights flashing, are you allowed to go around?

Most of the time it depends on weather conditions and time of year. This time of year most places will require you to have tire chains. For your safety I would carry them anyways. You will have a harder time getting stuck and you will have a lot more control of your car. I always recommend chains because they can be a real life saver. You never know when there is going to be ice on a road or hill or mountain.
