If your car has cloth seats, you can expect this to happen every time the humidity is low. One thing that has worked for me is Static Guard. It's sold in the laundry section pretty much every where. Follow the instructions, spray a light coat on your seats and it should do the trick.can high end cars like porche's be rented? from where?
Quit wearing rubber sole sneakers. You need to allow the electrons a way to escape, by wearing rubber sole sneakers, you're allowing the electrons to collect on your body as they come from the air. With no means of grounding themselves until you touch something that allows them to ground themselves, which is why you get shocked.
Lancer Evo 9 does "0 mph-100 mph-0 mph"?
Try this. Don't wear your rubber sole sneakers one day. Or take off one of our shoes while you drive. Bet you won't get shocked that day either.
what cars do clarkson and co, have on the ice cold board??
The very act of your clothing rubbing against the plastic seats is causing the static build up, probably noticing it more if you are in a climate that has low humidity (cold & dry). Your body is becoming charged and when you go to touch the metal car handle, the charge will equalize causing the spark.2 engines, woudl that be more or less horsepower?
There probably isn't any really good way to prevent it, but the type of clothing will make a difference. Wool for example tends to generate a good deal of static. Your rubber shoes and rubber mat actually insulates you allowing a larger charge to build up.
Maintaining a bond to the metal will also help. You probably could go out and buy one of those static wristlets used by computer repair personnel and connect one end to some metal in the car and the other around your wrist. This is referred to as bonding and allows static to continually "flow" to the car. Don't know if it is worth the aggravation though.
what is a clutch brake on a ford 8000 series truck?
Keep one hand on some metal part of the car as you get out. You will find that some of the different clothes you might wear also will reduce or eliminate the shock.More Questions & Answers ...
