I usually give the guy in front first refusal if he doesn't take it then I go when safe to do so - I usually put my indicator on and give a little flash if they don't move then I go aheaddepends on the situation, if he's 'looking' then i'll give 'em a chance, if not, i toot and flash, then roar past.

I'd go for it, but, I was on the A64 last year in the same situation on a single carrageway.. 4 cars behind a tractor when the car at the front decided to overtake. The driver didn't put his foot down and guess what... head on crash.. I called the ambulance, police and the fire service came too. If the guy ahead of you doesn't signal his intention to overtake the slow moving vehicle, then you should signal your intentions and overtake both vehicles if it is safe to do so - without going over the speed limit! You would need quite a long stretch of road to do this, so be particularly careful on a B road, as these usually have blind bends, hidden dips etc.More Questions & Answers ...
