So far I have not had any problems with the Wal-Mart service centers, and here in TX they open up at 7am to 7pm, and they also (here in TX) started a new service, they now clean fuel injectors and they actually did a good job on my two vehicles. By the way, here, the full service oil change, which also includes a lube and fill all fluids and check tires and even vac the vehicle all comes out to around $28.00, and the fuel injector cleaning is $19.99 but to each their own and everybody will have their own opinons. They often use the wrong grade oil, don't fill it enough or overfill it, forget to replace the oil cap, or tighten the drain plug. You'd be better off taking it to a real mechanic, one that is ASE certified, or better yet finding the nearest AAA recommended service shop in your area.

I think this depends on the Walmart you're at. I heard some of them do it fine, others do a lousy job. If you are concerned, then you should probably have your car serviced by a reliable auto shop, someone you know and trust. It takes some time, but if you've had your car repaired before, you should be able to figure out who is good and have decent prices after a few trial and errors. Yes, Walmart is usually cheaper for oil changes, but not necessarily the best quality you may want.

Where I work they open at 6 Wal mart hires people at low wages many people do not have experience. Many people have filed claims on Wal mart because their car was screwed up. Where I work a guy put oil in the wrong place. I get my oil changed there and have never had a problem but I get a discount. It is much better though to go to a dealership it will cost you a lot more money but it could be worth it. I wouldn't suggest going to a quick lube place either. They work on commission and will always find problems with your car even if there isn't a problem.
