I like that one.Once I sped up to run a light then saw, at over 50mph the policeman sitting beside the road. No traffic round usually that time of day.
I hit the brakes and slid sideways, stopping half in.
I limped it over to the side, popped the bonnet, pulled the vac boost line off and was shaking when the copper walked up...It came off.
He asked if I was okay. I said yes, but let me sit for a minute to settle down.
He asked how far I had to go, about a mile (true) he said be careful. I said yes sir and a bit later slowly drove away after replacing the hose.
And yes, I was shaking out of fear, fear of loosing points, a lot of them.
