Do I have to have 9 months of holding my permit before I can take behind the wheel?

Question:
I'm in Virginia. Ok well I'm in driver's ed right now, I got my permit on August 16th and it'll be 9 months on May 16th. I'm in driver's education right now, and it'll be over by the end of this month. Can I start behind the wheel right after I get out of driver's ed even if its not May? If so, will I be able to use the paper/provisional license?

Answers:

Are all wheel drive cars, can they be considered 4x4?

The best thing to do is to call up your local DMV office, but your drivers ed instructor should know the answer to this. If not, Kokopelli say drivers ed instructor not worth hill of beans.
