I cant believe this woman is driving neither. Has she no common sense? I am not being funny but if you were her would you really have done that? I also cannot believe that she got away with this. put it this way-would you get in a car with her, or let her drive your kids somewhere?It's clearly a case of the woman shouldnt be on the road to start with, if you're going to believe a piece of technology over common sense... she deserved to be hit by a sodding train!

Whilst this was clearly idiotic the problem with Sat Nav is it makes you stupid, you start to rely on it.I broke my sat nav and trying to get to unfamilier places with just my wit was a nightmare and I really stuggled to do things like read road signs when my sat nav wasnt there to guide me.
Mine has told me to drive off across fields before but you don't listen to it when you can see it's clearly wrong. If you can't tell the difference between a road and a train track you are either clinically insane or blind. Either way you shouldn't be behind the wheel.

this happens alot you read of lorries getting stuck between 2 houses and cars trying to drive through rivers that are 4 foot deep. Extremely stupid acts where people are literally driving without due care. Hi David,I will gladly put my tuppence in the ring, although I totally agree with all your other answers so far.
I borrowed a company car the other week, with a twee self-righteous lady american voice telling me to go the wrong way up a one-way street in Hammersmith.
So I unplugged the bloomin' thing at my destination, (obtained by using an A-Z map thing & looking at road signs), stamped vigouresly on the offending item, and chucked it in the boot.
A bloke with a red flag walking in front of the vehicle and pointing would have been better technology.
Oh, I like gizmos & gadgets, but do recommend them for the extemely hard of thinking.

Last month my boss followed directions from his sat nav and they took him down a dedicated bus lane in the centre of Brighton. OK not all of us can read a map or have a good sense of direction but these things are dangerous. Drivers should not be allowed on the road if they rely on them.I am a rep who goes all over Europe and can always find my destination without one.
