Question:
I always hear about owners running their car lean or rich. How does going either way effect the how much power your car outputs?
Answers:
Lost my license. What do i need to do?
As a general rule, you should not run your car "lean" at all! "just perfect" is just that.Running a car lean can lead to overheating, as the gas in the intake air literally helps cool the engine. In addition, running a car too lean can cause pinging (serious detonation) and this can actually destroy your pistons. Running a car "rich" wastes gas, increases pollution, and will rob your car of power. It also will lead to excessive carbon build-up in your engine over the longer-haul.
Why is it that the rear windows of cars do not open completely?
If you run your car lean it will reduce the output of power. But it will increase your fuel mileage. If you run your car rich it will increase the power but will reduce your fuel mileage. Hope this helps. What is the latest year that a car in the US can have a V12 engine?
You dont want either. Lean means not enough fuel in the cylindars to mix with the air. Rich is too much fuel mixed with the air. You want your car in the middle. You want it to have just the right fuel to air mixture. What do you do to save yourself from these crazy fuel prices?
lean mixture (save fuel).. possibility detonation is higher..usually with a lean mixture u'll find the engine REV's quite fast.. but the acceleration is quite week.. with a rich mix idle quality is very poor.. hard to drive slow...
Where is the best place to find the cheapest aftermarket car parts for a SUV?
running lean can , in extreme cases , melt motor parts , running rich is hard on the rings , fouls plugs etc. that is why a fuel injected engine with good pollution control equipment is the best way to goMore Questions & Answers ...
