ATTN. ALL FIREFIGHTERS, POLICE, and EMS?
Some people think so. Myself, I never tried to find out. One good tip though is to make sure your tire pressure is accurate as that causes less resistance and saves gas, too.Weight is a major factor only in acceleration and climbing hills. But if you want to consider weight, you are better off running the tank down instead of filling it. This is a tactic known by racers almost from the beginning. Near the end of a race, they will only load enough fuel to finish.
I'm going to take my permit test (driving portion). Do you guys have any words of advice?
If you filled up again halfway to your destination, you would certainly use more gasoline in the starting and stopping process than you will have used if you just kept going.
How Old Do You Have To Be To Rent a Car In Illinois?
Come on! You'll not see any difference. Lets say your tank holds 20 gallons and you put in 10. What is the weight of 10 gallons of gas comparing to the total weight of your car? Nothing. It might make a difference for race drivers because one thousand of a second might be all they need to gain (they are trying to save time, not get better millage) but not a regular driver. I mean, in practical terms. You might measure some increase in gas millage with precise instruments...
Of course, if you want to improve your gas millage buy reducing weight, do not eat before getting in your car: the weight of a hamburger in your stomach might be a factor...
