What are the advantages (if any) of a diesel vs. gasoline powered automobile?

Question:
Thinking about getting a new truck. Thanks!

Answers:

What should i do if i scratched a car when backing out?

Diesel engines get much better gas mileage, last a lot longer, and generally have a lot more torque. Disadvantages are they smell when they run, need longer to warm up in cold weather, cost a lot more, take a ton of oil so cost near $100 for an oil change, and right now diesel fuel is more expensive than gas. Generally speaking a diesel is a good choice if you are getting a big truck, work your truck alot and need the torque, or drive a lot.

Renting a car?

Diesel produce alot more torque. If you tow alot or are planning on using your truck for hauling heavy loads then a diesel will be better. Diesel trucks get better fuel mileage as well.
