What would you say is the absolute BEST car out there for driving in the rain and snow?

Question:
I'm pretty scared when it comes to driving in bad rain or snow and I'll be looking for a new car soon. I definitely don't know much about cars - what would you say is the best car (or SUV although I probably couldn't get one of those) out there for driving in the rain/snow? Thanks!

Pontiac GTO?

Any car that is all wheel drive will be better in the rain and snow. All the cars taht Subaru makes are AWD so they may have something that you like. They are also really reliable, good on ga, fun to drive, and look pretty good. Just remember to drive slow and pay attention if you are ever uncomfortable when driving and you will be OK. If you worry too much you will drive worse. It also helps a lot to put Rain-X on all your car windows. This stuff works great and keeps your windows clear of water in even the heaviest rain. A SUV may not be the best choice because they are easier to flip over. If you panicked and cut the wheel you could be in trouble. You would also be putting other people in danger because the will crush anything you crash into. If you are not the best driver in bad weather you may end up hurting or killing someone else.

92 Olds Achieva radiator question??

Front wheel or 4 wheel drive with tires that have high wet traction rating. Rear wheel drive is definitely not a good choice. It will lose traction easily since the wheels that move your car is not the ones you steer. That's why front and 4 wheel is better.

'RavensXXXV' is the only one to CORRECTLY answer your question. The brand, body style, and type of drive are all irrelevant to driving in the rain if the tires cannot displace the water effectively, and make good contact with the road surface. Once you have a really good 'rain' tire then all those other considerations come in to effect. Ditto for driving on snow / ice.
