Question:
Specifically..I mean how many years are they ideally supposed to last and how many miles are they built to go?
Answers:
Which engine is better a SR20DETT or an RB20DET?
Years and miles are totally unrelated because you can keep a car for 20 years, and if you don't drive much, your car will stay in good shape, but if you drive a lot you can use up your car in half that time. It's all about miles and how they are accumulated, where you store your car, and how much routine maintenance you do. Freeway miles are very easy on cars. The transmission doesn't shift as much, the brakes, clutch, and other consumables don't get used as much, the front end steering components don't get as much abuse, and the engine runs in high gear more, which allows it to run at lower RPM more of the time. 100,000 freeway miles are much easier than 100,000 miles in stop and go traffic. As for where you park, if you constantly park your car in the sun and outside instead of a garage or in the shade, your paint and interior will deteriorate sooner. Changing the oil regularly and keeping up on the basics will give you the best chance at preserving your car. I would venture to say that from my experience any mile over 100,000 miles is a bonus. I always keep my cars for between 100,000 and 200,000 miles. Usually by 200,000 miles they're starting to fall apart. I'm currently 5,000 miles shy of 100,000 on my Neon, and it's almost 10 years old and doing just fine. I drive it 300 miles a week, mostly freeway.I think it depends on the brand of car, price range, & even the day of the week it was mfr on. When u deal with the U.A.W.(ford & GM) they like to go get drunk on the weekends after they get paid. I know this for a fact becasue my uncle worked for GM during the 80's when they had all those quality issues. I love GM to death but they should've nipped that long ago!
Anyway 10 YRS or 150,000 miles isnt too much to ask for with the above factors & good maintence!
How can you lookup license plates for free?
you cant expect an answer without knowing a model etc. you have to factor in so many issues, miles driven ,road conditions where you drive, weather, type of care it gets.its impossible to reach a good answer. but most vehicles with proper care will last average of 10 yrs give or take.
