Question:
Ever been in a car accident where the ambulance could not get to the scene quick enough and someone dies? Ever think about a heavy lift helicopter like the Sikorsky Skycrane or Boeing Chinook picking up the ambulance and putting it, and the traffic congestion chokes off all the streets, right where it needs to be?
Answers:
My city has had these air ambulances since the use of them was first introduced. And I beg to differ, but who the heck is supposed to tell them that an accident victim is hoity-toity? An accident victim who needs to be cut out of their car, and is stuck behind miles of stalled traffic is anonymous for the most part. And Mr. Joe Blow gets flown out because his injuries are life threatening just as much as Ms. Upper Crust.
Your thinking is flawed.

Here is a link to a newsletter specifically targetted to In Flight Medical Professionals. I suggest asking questions in one of their forums for the information on how prevalent air ambulance services are across the country.
How about an air ambulance instead? The helicopter lands at the accident site and flies the people directly to the hospital. They have them everywhere.
