Question:
I was out of state and stopped to get gas on my way home, after getting gas I started driving and my car died. Took it to the mechanic and they said it looked like diesel gas was in there, or just really messed up gas. I used my credit card but don't have the receipt.will I be able to get reimbursed for gas money plus the $500 that it took to get my car fixed since the gas was messed up? What do I do?

When you think of a BMW driver, what image comes to your mind?
Possibly. How do you fishtale in a front wheel drive car?
If they had the wrong fuel loaded into the tank, then they should cover your damages. Call them first, explain your situation and ask them if they had a problem that day.
If they had a known issue and had several other cars that had the same problem, they'll likely take care of it.
I'm obsessed with the Subaru WRX STI but have never driven one. Are they as good as the hype?
If you were the only person who had a problem, then you're going to have a hard time proving they were at fault.
A few things in your favor. If it was, in fact, diesel, it would be very unlikely that you put diesel in your car by mistake as a diesel nozzle is much larger than an unleaded nozzle. Not impossible, just very unlikely.
Against you is that when calling, you have to rely on them to be upfront and tell the truth about whether or not they had any problems that day.
What is your SUV recommendation?
If they deny it, you'll probably be looking at taking them to small claims court to get anything back. It would be best to contact an attorney for advice if that's the situation. But try contacting them and giving them a chance to make it right first.
I live in Wa state and need help getting a car.?
If this happened very shortly after filling up, then it will be hard to deny it happened from their station. They would then have to prove that somehow you pumped the wrong gas.
Why is there no respect for truck drivers.?
not if you put it inWhat country are Napa auto parts manufactured?
Unfortunately, No. they wont give you a dime back because you cant prove it happened there. I would chalk that one up. make sure you stick to specific gas stations where you know they have good gas. example: New gas stations. old ones tend to have old tanks in the ground that have been there forever and get moisture in them. When I want to Block OnStar for my car.?
i own a repair shop, and you probably wont get payed back for this one because the way some gas stations have there diesel pumps set up its with the gas pumps, and i have had a few of them come to the shop and admit they put it in there,so you probably wont get any help with this one, because they may have a tape of you pumping it in there, most stations now have a monitoring system just in case someone decides to drive off, without paying for the fuel, but it also helps protect them in situations like this also, you may have accidentally put it in there,a lot of people have done this, good luck i hope this helps.if it is diesel fuel in your tank, the problem is this, either you put diesel in to begin with,or the transport that brought thestations gas in might have made the mistake, could be water.if you pull into a station and the transport is delivering fuel, fuel some where else,or wait at least an hour before fueling there.when fuel is delivered to low tanks it stirs up contaminents from the bottom and gets into the system.proving it was the station or the transport co fault,is hard to prove ,unless others have the same problem at the same location.as far as reimbersment, unless it can be proven looks like your out.sorry.
Premium grade gasoline?. . . Do you buy/use this grade, on occasion?
Did you put the fuel in? If you did then it is your own fault. if someone else put the fuel in then you might have a case. What are we going to do about these high gas prices?
Contact your insurance company at once. It is possible that there are dozens of cars with the very same problem out there right now and the sooner you take action the easier it will be to prove bad fuel caused damage to your vehicle. You will NOT be reinbursed for the fuel. If you accidently put diesel vs gasoline in your car then guess what--? you most likely will be covered under your comprehensive policy (afterall, it was an accident). I only hope you have a good insurance company because this is really where you get your moneys worth.More Questions & Answers ...
