I'm trying to not have to push the truck to do 65 on the freeway but I dont want to put an overdrive or new tranny in it. The truck is a 5speed manual 4cyl 2.2L and it is pushing 3000rpm in 5th on the freeway at 60mph.

The reason you are having this problem is because (no offense) the 4 cylinder S-10 is a gutless engine and it needs that low axle ratio to accelerate. (I had one)
