While travelling in a motorhome in the US, does my NJ handgun permit allow me to carry on board the motorhome?

I have a handgun permit for use as personal protection within my residence. How does the permit hold up while we travel throughout the US considering our motorhome is now considered our primary residence??

You can only carry in the state you are licensed. Be very careful because other states will throw the book at you. Be familiar with the states laws that you go into, and again, you need to apply for a permit in each of those states.

Once you leave NJ you are in violation of other states laws to carry a weapon...regardless if it is in you RV or not, or that RV is your primary residence.

check with the locality you are entering into before you get there, each is different, leniency is a thing of the past. ie, ny is a felony to be unlicensed any where at any time, in ontario its manditory 6 mos jail time before you get to see a lawyer, magistrates have been known to give out temporary permits but its extremely rare, emphases is on extremely ..other states are similarly inclined regarding hand guns since 9-11. err on the side of caution, if in doubt, lock it up and leave at home.
