CAR DRIVING - When do I press OVER DRIVE?

Question:
Can any one tell me when do I press the OVERDRIVE button while I am driving the car. As far as I know when speed is less than 60 KM per hour OVERDRIVE light will not show, when the speed is over 60 KM per hour, OVERDRIVE button need to be pushed and the light will appear (which means OVERDRIVE OFF).

Overdrive acts basically as a rev limiter.
for better mileage the overdrive when on will change gears at low rpm level's say like 3k
but when overdrive is off the gears will change at 5k or so
this will make the engine rev more => more pickup and power.
this is maybe good when you carry heavy loads.
but for regular driving you can always keep in on.

How your all think about honda city and toyota vios?

Since you have an overdrive button, I'm assuming that you are driving a car with an automatic transmission. When you push this button, it simply keeps the transmission from shifting into overdrive. You only need to turn overdrive off if your car is having difficulty making it up a hill at high speeds. If overdrive is turned off for most of the trip, then your fuel efficiency will be lower.
