My father used to siphon gas with a cut piece of garden hose by sticking one end in the car's gas tank, and using his mouth to suck the gas up into the hose then out into a gas can. He'd always end up getting a mouthful of fuel and spitting it out and coughing and sputtering. I ain't going there.
