A lead acid battery is a standard car battery.
A gel battery is one where a gel is used in place of the water. The advantage is that it is sealed and wont leak if tipped on its side.
AGM batteries are absorbed glass mat batteries. Thye are sealed. They do not need silica gel because the acid is absorbed in fiberglass mats. It can not leak out. They come in starter and deep cycle.

lead acid is lead plates immersed in sulphuric acid, needs maintenace, gel is the acid is in gel form and sealed, no maintenace necessary,not familliar with agm,but sounds like a magnesium, maintenance free.
