Need help on engine service 40 hp Johnson?
Straight oil (engine oil) mixed with gas.. will produce poor results (big plumes of smoke, lots of oil spitting. and port clogging ash)What is the canal that allowed ships to move from the the Red Sea to the Mediterraian sea?
2 cycle oil.. is a light oil, made to burn slow (so it reaches the exhaust side and stays around in the crankcase for a little bit) and is made to burn clean.. contains barely any additives (few antiwear and maybe a fuel stabilizer)
Never try to use either one, for a different application other than what they are supposed to be used for.. keep the 4 cycle filled with engine oil.. 2 cycles gas mixed with 2 cycle oil..
What does NMEA stand for in a gps system for the sea?
ashless does not have "teflon" in it. dunno who told you that.
Straight engine oil produces an ash when burned. Two cycle oil is ashless when burned. In order to keep form clogging up a two cycle engine, you must use ashless oil aka two cycle oil.
How do you find the owner of a lost boat?
the difference is in the motors some motors need oil gas mix because thats there lubricationHow much does a 60 foot sailboat weigh? (Ballpark)?
It is "Ashless" and has *Teflon in it, it also mixes faster with fuel than reg. oil. Fuel today has alcohol in it, and other nasty things, "this is the worst fuel quality ever". If you add "Carbon Guard" fuel additive it burns much cleaner with less problems, I'm not a big believer in fuel/ oil additives but, I saw the results from this stuff "Squeeky clean plugs", it's pretty cheap too 1 0z. treats 8 gallons of gas, it is sold in 16 oz bottles, I strongly suggest it after looking at all of the boats in the shop last years w/ fuel related problems. Just my 2 cents.More Questions & Answers ...
