Question:
I used my boat in late November and will use it next in April. Should I winterize it now or should I just run the motor for a while. If I run the motor, how long should I run it for?

If you are in a very cold climate, i would winterize...of course you have probably already had the coldest part of the year, so any damage would have already happened.
I need the year and model of my outboard motor. Mariner serial number 6277384?
Run the motor on the water hose, let it warm up to the normal temp. 5 minutes or so, make sure its all good.
Six weeks is all it takes for the gasoline in the lines/carb/injectors to dry up and leave a gummy mess. You should use a fuel stabilizer, like Sta-Bil, in your last tank of fuel for the season. If you have not drained the cooling system, it has already frozen and caused all the damage it can (in most areas of the country).
