Charging at 3 or 6 amps will make little difference but charge at a lower rate overnight. If you are looking at a quick charge you could go up to 15 amps or even 50 on a booster charge for a short period of time. If you have plenty of time the slower charge the better over several days as it will help de-scale the plates in the battery.
