Question:
Need to disconnect VRO due to many sensor problems. Prefer to mix my own fuel and know what I am running.

What is the better cruising sailboat for the beginner? A Hunter or Catalina?
Just unplug the oil line from the VRO , that's the large one. And mix your fuel 50 to 1. Your going to smoke like hell when you are idling or trolling. I wouldn't do it personally, It's a very easy concept to understand, and well worth having it on there. They have came a long way since 1990 and they do sell one that will not go bad. It's actually cheaper than putting on a basic fuel pump. What was wrong with the ones in 1990 were that they used defective pulse diaphragms and hoses and clamps that would allow air to enter the system and you had to buy the entire pump when something went wrong. Not the case now. I think they had the problem work out by 96. Lucky you huh! But you can unplug the oil side and put a cap over the port. Unplug the electrical sensor at the top of the VRO and the one in your oil reservoir and just use the fuel pump side of the VRO to get the job done in till the pulse valve or the diaphragm fails. How much is a 79 hydrostream viking worth?
it's a pretty tough procedure to relay here. contact a dealer & ask them nicely if they can make you a copy from the manual. that shouldn't be a problem, we do it all the time.More Questions & Answers ...
