Question:
I HAVE JUST MADE A WOODEN BOAT WHAT KIND OF SEALER SHOULD I PUT ON IT (NOT PAINT)
Answers:
What did you do today...My Friend just crossed the equator in his 28 foot sailboat in the Pacific?
you don't mention ow big or what type, so....How do you take a whizz on a small boat?
based on 30 years building wooden boats in the Caribbean, my default answer on what to put on wood is epoxy resin....preferably the stuff made by WEST System....it gives an excellent seal with great tenacity and abrasion resistance.it doesn't do well in sunlight and is slippery like spar varnish, so you have to paint or varnish over but it will add YEARS to the life of your boat....especially any plywood..seal the living daylights out of the end grain and happy boating!
Id u accdenly get a girl mad for doing nothing what do you do ( just a friend)?
in the old days they used pine pitch or tar with juteHow do I remove fiberglass from Aluminum boat?
I would use Navy Spar varnish. It isn't your typical varathane stuff. It actually "washes" off over time and thus needs to be done every year. My father had many wood boats and the varnish was always mint. All the trim was stained and sealed mahogany and as a kid I remember hours and hours of sanding and varnishing. Lots of work yes but wow, what a result. Something to really be proud of when it's done... kinda like the work you put into building it in the first place.Where can I buy a steering console for my 25' inflatable boat?
RustSeal in Clear. It will waterproof wood as well as metal. Apply 3 coats for marine applications. Please advise how I should legally and safely dispose of distress flares that are out of date??
