Can someone explain to me how a neuclear motor wors as in a aircraft carrier?
it depends was it making this noise before you changed these parts or after, if it was after then somthing was put together wrong if not i would check to see if you either have a knock in your lower end of motor or just somthing loose rattling around, in the engine compartment of a boat noises can travel and throw you off of where its coming from so mabye try a stethascope to narrow down where its coming from.Subs. i have seen tiny subs go down to the bottom of the ocean deepest parts on tv .?
check the out drive to engine alignment ,this requires a alignment tool.make sure everything has grease.if you look where the outdrive shaft goes throught the hull to the engine, you'll see a large round bearing...say 3-4 inches in diameter. it's called a gimbal bearing. replace it and keep it greased a couple of times a season & you won't hear that anymore. did you check the u-joints when you had it off before?
Is it a Mercruiser or a Volvo? Exhaust anti-backflow flappers can cause a rattling sound, most notably at idle.
