Been on a USS Trident,Its cool unless your claustrophobic. You should go to a naval base take a tour.Banana boat is not close to submarine experience. When, and if you get an opportunity to go under or just walk through take it!I've been on a submarine, tied up at a wharf. Really confining, bunks everywhere, every square inch used. It had a vynal floor and a cieling, was like being in a long thin office with no spare room.

I would love to be in a Submarine or a banana boat. Hope my dream come trueWhen I was station in Connecticut, I went on the Nautilus to repair their Aux. engine. And if you don't like tight places, you wouldn't like being on a sub. And in our home port of New London I went on a fast attack sub to work on their aux. engine, which was a Fairbanks opposed piston. It was still cramped, but not as old fashioned looking. We weren't allowed by the reactor, but even the space next to it was warm. And if you want good food, join the sub. service they get the best food in the navy, the only one who eat better are the officers. I was even on an old diesel boat, they have even less room, the crew used to sleep on the torpedoes. Served 4 years on sub. tenders, would do it again in a heartbeat, didn't mind the navy; just some of the officers were, how shall I say this, *** HOLES, but you get those kinds where ever you work.
N- never
A- again
V- volunteer
Y- yourself
This refers to when a petty officer asks for volunteers, not joining the navy.
I hope I answered some of your questions.
can I take a 18 foot bowrider across the channel?
Yes to both. The sub was a museum in Pearl Harbor, very tight inside. The "Banna boat" was a training Ship, formerly used to transport referigerated and containerized cargo, mostly Banannas. Plenty of space if you were an Officer, or Academy Staff. The Burnham(Somerset)Motorboats Ltd - built/supplied boats 1950? would like to find out more please?
Fun, what else can I say.looking for marine engine dealer 0r wholesale distributorin oh.mi,pa?
couple of times but most times it was at disneyland in the 70s and early 80sBeing on a submarine is not that much different than being below decks on a surface ship except smaller and more cramped, even on a Trident. You really can't tell the difference between being submerged or on the surface except being submerged is a smoother ride.
Officers on submarines eat the exact same thing as the rest of the crew does they just get it on prettier plates and cleaner utensils.
Don't know anything about "banana boats", sorry.
