I saw pictures of a cute little sailboat that doesn't have a back end . What's that all about?

Question:
The other sides look like a regular boat with a little wall all the way around. On the back there's not little wall. Just the deck. AT first I thought it was cut away to show a cross section of the boat but it really looks like that. How can it float without filling up with water?

Will a lower unit off of a mercury 1978 150hp work on a 1967 100 hp?

It lets the water out...

How to find specifications on a 25hp mercury S/n 5842689?

A lot of small racing boats have an open transom... they depend on inbuilt buoyancy to stay afloat, and, because they're specifically for racing, they will tend to take on a lot more water than most... and the crew don't want the extra weight of a few gallons of water aboard, nor do they want to spare the time pumping or bailing.

Is there a way to travel to Cozumel by boat?

At rest, they do tend to ship some water through the transom, but racing boats are not designed to *be* at rest... once up and planing, all the water is gone. Literally sucked out the back
