Yes you could if you can get the extension kit from Bombardier (was OMC)? But manufacturers these days do not carry parts for engines older than 10 years. Having said that you might get lucky. Extending a lower unit may not be as easy as you think because to place the the extension on the shaft you may well have to remove the power-head because the space required to push it through the top of the mid section is limited so you have to do it from the top. If its a cavitation problem think about cutting the transom down a few inches to achieve what you need?I am looking for some vinly stripping for use on a boat so you wont slip?
