Question:
-give me some examples of why or why not one is better
Answers:
No today it is better. The Titanic took its first class cabins straight to the bottom of the ocean on its first outing. Today's cruise ships sail week in and week out and the cabins are dry.
what is the name of the control on older sea going vessels the changes speed and fwd & rev?
Regardless of service or luxury. You are better off on a boat that stays afloat.
What does it roughly cost per year to maintain a 20 foot speed boat (not including boat payment)?
Not nicer, just different. Remember, in 1912, it was considered luxurious to have a vanity sink in your cabin, whereas today ALL cabins have bathing facilities. The highest-priced cabins aboard Titanic (A Deck and B Deck) actually had their own enclosed promenade decks, and were sold for several thousand dollars each. They came with gold-plated fixtures, fireplaces, and the woodwork was amazing. Also, you had your own stewards to act in a domestic capacity.
Today, you don't get the same kind of aristocratic treatment, but many large cruise ships boast facilities and amenities that Titanic couldn't touch, such as two-deck suites, plumbing, satellite TV, etc.
Boat has old gas in it, how do I dispose of it or do I run it until its gone?
So, both are luxurious.
In a rowboat the rower faces backwards but a canoer faces forwards. Why the difference?
No the titanic didn't have a Jacuzzi. TV,DVD,or a good stereo. The cabin also didn't have A/C would get pretty hot on a southern cruise. The titanic did have excellent furniture, rugs, wood panels that were hand carved and gold leaf brass, marble furnishings. A 1st class cabin came with it's own servants. The cabin was actually a suite with several rooms. This was about the size of your average apartment. If you could fit modern technology into the Titanic's suite that would be the one I prefer.More Questions & Answers ...
