I have the power tilt, it is very convenient, however, without the power trim and tilt, you have 1 less thing to worry about on the outboard, an electric motor sitting in salt water does not sound like a "Trouble free" addition to the motor. I had manual tilt on another motor, I just used to keep a piece of 2" X 4" piece of wood roped to the back in case I needed to put it under the tilt bracket of the motor, for shallow water boating.
