Question:
By "best boats” I really mean the most economical. Comfort is important too, but I'm not talking luxury here. My wife does like a 20 degree Celsius room temperature.
It would be interesting to know more about those who chose to live on the directly on water anywhere in the world, but specifically North America. What kind of boat is used for this purpose most successfully? If you know of anyone living directly on the water, I would like to discuss the pros/cons of life on the water etc.
I will be selling my home on the Canadian East Coast, and moving to the West coast. I love the water, but my current boat is too small for 2 people to eat/sleep/bathe etc. and its too cold here. Many harbours freeze over completely. I understand that doesn't happen on the Canadian West coast.
What are the minimum boat and equipment requirements for 2 to live off the west coast of Canada and US?
Could a person realistically roam the coves and islands of the Pacific Northwest with minimum dockage?

Need to know what post to wire to for tach on 1976 Johnson 70 hp?
Liveaboarding is our ultimate goal in 7 years, 3 months and 13 days (but who's counting...). We are from Canada's east coast as well (Tatamagouche NS) and we realize that "Ever After" is just a tad small to live on year-round. We're planning to move up to an Aloha 34, (about $65,000 CDN) to get it done.) The West coast is not Lotus Land when it comes to weather, either. They get their fair share of snot and more than their fair share of precipitation.I'm looking for offshore tugboat shipyard in Florida?
Obviously, you're going to need refrigeration ($) as well as a genset and solar panels (50W minimum w/limiter) and wind generator for battery recharging (5 batteries should suffice, one for engine starting and four 6V golf car batteries for the house bank. A shower facility is not a luxury and of course water maker capability in addition to increased diesel fuel capacity and holding tank capability as well. (One would not want to run afoul of the "poop patrol", which is even rapidly becoming a fact of life in Cape Breton's beautiful Bras d'Or Lakes. (Just don't ask where your sewage goes when you get pumped out in Baddeck...) Insurance will be quite expensive for a vessel in the water year-round, we pay $500/yr for a six month season covering all perils.($32k of coverage)
where do I find the serial number on a Honda 4 stroke outboard boat motor?
For the love of GOD, beware the "betterment clause"- they'll try to stick it to you! We had a C&C27 damaged by "White Juan" here a couple of years ago and the insurance company wouldn't replace the broken mast!! (Their excuse was that a new mast and boom ($15k) would outlast the hull,) so a scrap C&C27 had to be purchased ($6k), trucked to NS($5k) and the mast taken down and put on the damaged boat... they went for that... go figure!
Has anyone seen that ship that submerged 1 mile of shore. It's the msc napoli?
All in all, we're looking at a minimum of $150k to start our life as a liveaboard, but we think it'll be worth it.
Good Luck!
Where can I find used helm seats for 68 wooden cruiser??
Yes there are, I'm one of them! Have lived on my boat a Columbia 36 in the Caribbean for almost 15 years and would not change it for the world. Unless you have a huge boat you will always have limited space because over time you will accumilate so much stuff. If you are buying a boat go for one that has its own aft cabin and centre console, privacy for you and good to have guests on board. Get a wind generator, solar panels, small mobile generator and a good fridge/freezer, "Seafrost" with a half inch cold plate I can highly recommend, I've had them all and this one is excellent. Cannot comment on Canadian waters as I don't know. There's a lot more I could tell you but it would be like a book! Come back up again and give me your e-mail address.are there any afro-carbien captains of ships in the royal navy?

this pos bayliner 19 ft with 125 force came like that from the factory?
My wife and I lived on a 24 foot sailboat for seven months on a cruise, and a 42 foot fishing boat for fifteen years. Size and type of vessel depend entirely on the owners desires and ability to pay. Moving from a house to a boat will involve a lot a sacrifice. A small, one bedroom house has a lot more room than a fifty foot boat for instance.More Questions & Answers ...
