Starting with coarse (80 grit) sandpaper, work your way through 120 grit and finally 240 for the finish. We exclusively use teak oil on our vessel and about once a month a light coat makes the brightwork beautiful! Some use Cetol and I've heard of mixed results with that product.

I have a bayliner 19 ft with a 125 force outboard what would explain the reason why It won,t go faster than 15

oil it -- linseed oil, tung oil, there are others. ask at home depot or lowes. you just rub it on -- the wood sucks it up. you can do this a few times and it should look a lot better.

There a product that can be bought thru any good marine supply .. Teak cleaner , and teak oil..Pressure washing will work but it raises the grain..so its best to use the cleaner and a scrub brush then start the oiling process ..Teak looks nice ,but its a pain in the *** to maintain.. well I hope this helps you... Teak looks great new but, is a pain in the @$$ to maintain, I use Mahogony instead, stain and poly it instead (except grab rails), it is a bit of a hassel but, at least you get a few years out of it before you have to refinish it. I think it looks better than teak as well.
