50hp Suzuki 4 stroke...Thoughts on removing cylinder-head?

Question:
The motor starts like new and runs like new intil it reaches operating temp. The idle drops to 850rpm, as it should, then #1 and #3 cylinders fill with water and flood the oil pan. I haven't performed a leakdown but as you can see I fear the worst. I've never known a Suzuki to blow a headgasket without a overheat buzzer sounding. But never the less, can I get by removing intake manifold bolts to head and leave the intake floating as I'm removing and replacing the cylinder-head?

If it runs well intially until op temp is reached and the thermostat opens you have a bad head gasket or a sticking valve. Pull off the head, clean it up, grind the valves and replace. Check your over heat sensor and buzzer.
