Your Whaler is a light boat that doesn't have a lot of room for putting anything in the boat to correct the problem. Your engine seems pretty big and may be the central problem. Well, you've got 490 pounds of outboard back aft in a vessel which has a designed weight of 3000 pounds. I think you're going to have to live with the fact that you'll be squatting noticeably as long as you've got that motor. While in motion, you can easily fix this problem by installing trim tabs on your boat. They will help you get on plane faster and will allow you to "trim" the bow down while turning lower RPMs on your outboard.

You have several things you can do...
First, you can move any and all moveable weight in the

up in the bow. Such things as extra anchors, fuel cans,
shore power cords, all that stuff that finds its way into the stern - move it forward. Now look at your batteries. Can
you install them somewhere forward and run longer cables? If so, do that. Some immediate improvement should be noticed.

you a feel for the amount of weight shift you need to
achieve. Remember, an average man weighs 180 - 220 Pounds...Move him forward.
