Looking for a wiring Harness for a 1977 Renken I/O ,165 hpMercruiser,any Info welcome?
1st, fogging oil was use on 2 stk motors but not on direct injected motors. The purpose of the fogging oil was to coat the crankshaft with oil for storage. The reason we needed to do this was the oil was at a 50:1 mix, with a DFI motor the oil is not diluted there for it coats the crank like the fogging oil did.2nd putting fogging oil in the intake of an Optimax will not get into all the cylinders evenly. The only way to oil the cylinders is to remove the spark plugs and squirt some TCW 3 oil in each cylinder.
3rd Never mix oil in your fuel with a DFI motor, it will hurt the motor. Only but fuel stablizer and Quick clean in your fuel.
why would you want to do that?? technically i don't think it will "hurt" anything, but it's totally unneccesary. opti-max is a 2-stroke engine. fogging is usually applied to 4-strokes, of all types, to prevent rust during lay-up. lately the manufacturers have decided that running a 4-stroke on a 50/1 mixture for ten minutes or so does the same thing at zero expense.
what do i doif i have a 302 that will not start?
no it will not hurt anything, if you are doing to store the enigine for a period of time then do it, otherwise you do not need to, the only side effect will be it will be hard to start when you do start the engine, and it will smoke when you start it thats about itHow doz the Teleflex steering work on the outboard motor connection?
Don't be a lazy merc, remove your spark plugs and fog for winter storage. You don't want to oil up the spark arrester, it will get all sticky and dirt and debree will cling to places causing build up and oooooh!what do I need for ship cars from Peru to England?
