Disconnect fuel line, run motor until it quits. (Do NOT forget to use the earmuffs to provide cooling water or you'll take out your water pump impeller!) Remove spark plugs and use fogging oil in each cylinder. Replace spark plugs. Change oil and gear oil as used lubricants are quite nasty (and harmful) to leave in the motor over the winter. Cover motor and you're done!

You must "FOG" the motor as well, this is done while "Flushing out the motor w/ rabbit ears and hose water "on", this drives out water, and lubricates the internal parts of the motor, so that start up is easy next season, directions are on the can (any boat store) VERY IMPORTANT, DON'T LEAVE THIS PART OUT ! I then coat a light mist of wd-40 to the whole motor under the cover, store motor in the downward position, this drains the water from the head so it does'nt freeze.

2) Drain and refill lower unit (and crank case if a 4 stroke)
3) Fog the unit with storage sealent to prevent water coorosion
