3/4hp motor wiring?

Question:
I have a electric motor 3/4hp that burnt up. It was hard wired with 5wires. Has a foward/reversing switch before getting to the motor. My replacement motor only shows 4 wire connections two wires are loose and two on a conectors on a board. Will this work? What do i do with the extra wire? The motor operates my boat dock.

What voltage? The two loose wires could be for capacitor start,but with the little info. you are giving its hard to say.
