Question:
And how do you do it?
Answers:
if i find a abandoned boat what are the legal prosigers i must go threw?
Ive never seen a springer canal boat but have delt with plenty of lister engines and sailed on many small boats and always felt the boat had been built around the engine!I'm working on assumtions here but I guess by the way you've worded the question the engine is ready for removal?
If there is a hatch above the engine its a fairly simple task with careful consideration, pull lifts, chain blocks, strops and usually a substantial piece of timber.
If the nearest hatch is a way off as in some midmounted engines, its a case of moving the engine along the boat. Usually over carpeted interior and past cupboards and other obstructions.
I would measure the passage of the engine and ensure there is going to be enough room for the engine to pass along the boat, then find a piece of 3/4" board (chip/ply)- cut to size, and lay this on the floor to enable you to drag the engine along this using the pull lifts or chainblocks towards the hatch so it can be lifted easily. Please dont try and manhandle the engine, they are a bloody heavy lump and can easy trap hands and fingers.
What 15 hp outboard motor is the best.?
BTW, Remember- It might look impossible but they got the bugger in there somehow!
do i have to winterise my outbord motor in my boat??
It'll be half under the rear deck and the rear steps, right ?should i take my seadoo in for winterizing or do it myself ..The shop is charging 100.00.?
You'll have to seperate the gearbox in situ, take it out. Then the engine should come out through the rear deck. Some decks were welded in, in which case you'll need to grind away the lugs. Others use bolts.
