Question:
i have 2000 Johnson 90hp outboard motors. the oil is injected from tank. i would like to use penzoil synthetic blend but my oil reservior tanks are not empty yet. would it hurt anything if i go ahead and pure in the new stuff? or do i have to run it out before putting it in? is this new blend better to use then the traditional marine 2cycle oil? thanks for any help that you can provide.

Do you always run your beilge pump while in the water?
I don't think it would matter, just make sure that the 2-stroke oil is the same concentration, I saw 2-stoke oil on sale at West Marine, I looked at the "50:1" fuel ratio and it was something like 3.5 oz. of oil to every gallon of gas, as where the other major oil brands are 2.8-3.0 oz. of 2-stroke oil to every gallon of gas (It's cheaper but, you must use more of the WEST MARINE oil). I have a 2005 Johnson 50 h.p, I paid EXTRA to have the "VRO" removed, and add the oil manually to the fuel (It's only a 7 gallon tank, so it's no biggie for me, a larger motor would require a lot more mixing of fuel)I use AMSOIL (I'm a dealer) as far as AMSOIL goes yes you can mix it. I use it in my 115 HP Yamaha outboard. AMSOIL HP Injector oil.
How much does it coast the new LAZZARA 75 LSXQUAD?
You can mix the old oil with the syn with no prob. I really don't think there is any value in a syn oil for a two-stroke though. The main benefits of a syn oil are better flow at low temps and resistance to shear. Both are negated by mixing with fuel in a two-stroke.I have a 1977 70 hp Johnson How do I check the water pump? Where does the water discharge from?
i would be better to drain the oil out depending on how old it is and i would use Pennzoil Mobile clean 5000More Questions & Answers ...
