Need to know what post to wire to for tach on 1976 Johnson 70 hp?

Have a Yamaha tach removed from Johnson 120 hp [old model] 70's

On your Johnson, the tach wire in the harness is gray. This wire hooks to the S (signal) wire on the tach. Then connect a hot lead and ground, and you should have a working tach. Keep in mind there is a "dip" switch on the back of the tach also, which may need to be adjusted to make it rad the correct rpm
