Can I get a job sailing boats from Germany/Holland to the Med?

Question:
I met a guy doing this some years ago, apparently linking canals/rivers to take a private boat down to the Med so the owners could holiday down there. He then sailed the boat back for them (after the summer). Is this a common thing? If so, where could I find out about it? I'm keen to do something like this if anyone has any ideas. Thanks.

Unless you have a Yachtmaster qualification, no boat owner in their right mind would hire a captain to move his or her boat. If you are not qualified that's your first step, there are plenty of delivery jobs out there.
