Question:
if i put a 25 hp engine on a 14 foot aluminum boat would it be possible to kneeboard behind it or ski possibly? and a;so could the hull take the stress of towing someone and the 25 horses at the same time
Answers:
anyone heard of pablo a cibert boat designer probally argentinian?
I used to use a 20 hp 2-stroke on a 14 ft aluminum boat to pull 10 - 14 yr old kids on knee boards and skis. The boat seemed to handle the stress ok ... I added a knee brace at the middle of the transom to the floorboard and keel in order to transfer the extra stress. The weight of the outboard wasn't a problem .. I used a tiller extension and had a spotter in the bow.Can a ship sail with only one engine?
You can do it, but you would have to ballast the bow and tilt the enging down to keep her trim. Check the certification plate, it will tell you how big an engine is allowed for the boat. When I change from the 2bbl to 4bbl how do I change the setting on the ECM your talking about?
sounds shaky to me. most 14' boats won't hold a 25hp motor in the first place. try it in a place you can retrieve everything if things go wrong.Yes by all means tie it off, but not to the transom.... Jim
