can you jump in to the sea from 100ft and survive?
I'm always in protected waters (Bay), so I always just throw a liter of water into my "Rapid ditch bag" (Abandon ship bag), it floats, and has flares, a spare waterproof hand held V.H.F. marine radio, mirror, whistle, knife, strobe light, flashlight etc. I always wear my "PFD" too, ALWAYS ! drowning is never "IN FASHION" !when it rains...

If you are going out to sea I suggest that you get a life raft that has a water tank so that you are always near water.You can also buy a 12 volt water maker for your boat (it is a mini desalinator) so whatever the situation just make sure that the boat has good batteries before you go, take a spare set just in case, get a solar panel and\or a wind generator to keep your batteries charged you will always have fresh drinkable water on hand (just so long as the boat is not destroyed this is why you have a life raft that holds fresh water)

Just to be sure if the life raft is capable of holding one you could put a solar still in it but the life raft may not be able to cope.

Be sure to also have plenty of gas, or a really big power inverter to power an electric cooker so that you can cook fish that you catch for food, be sure to have plenty of long life food in the life raft if it can handle it. My life raft has food and water in it.

When it rains,the water will be fresh.If you are desperate .... and if you dont have a water making in your boat..or it's not raining... wet your clothes so your body doesn't loose more water from the sun ..... try to catch fish and squeze them with you shirt.... it takes some patience but fishes actually have water in their muscles ..... if you have clorox or any other cleaning product on your boat get some sea water in a bottle and put a drop of cleaning product in sea water and make it wait for an hour and drink the top of the water but never drink the bottom.... cause that's where all the chemicals and dirt is.....or you can always drink your urine but dont drink too much or you will be poisoned.
