Well, I live near and we've been told that all objects recovered from the wreckage has to be handed in or that will be considered as stolen properties... Sad about the oil but alot of this is scare tactics too. I'd go down & check for stuff coming ashore like the mentioned bikes etc, as I think the so called toxic waste will be of little or no risk.Get the bikes before the rust sets in as I'd of thought you would be helping in the clean up!
